Anne Talbot
Anne grew up in Dublin, Ireland, where she learned to ride at an active horse yard just outside of the city. She moved to Canada but continued to ride, owning several wonderful horses along the way. She returned to Ireland to earn her British Horse Society Assistant Instructor qualification. Anne has been teaching at both Sunnybrook Stables and the Riding Academy since 2003. For the past ten years Anne has been a student of ‘A’ circuit trainer, Grace Wanyura at Rocabarra Hunters and Jumpers in Uxbridge, where she houses her horse, Little Joe, a veteran of many successful Royal Winter Fairs. At Rocabarra, she also takes advantage of riding some of the many imported sales horses that regularly arrive from Europe. Besides a busy teaching and riding schedule, Anne also organizes and participates in, through Sunnybrook stables, summer riding holidays to Ireland. Participants have a choice of two exciting trips. The first is a scenic tour of the Irish countryside from horseback. The second trip is comprised of daily lessons in stadium and cross-country jumping. Both trips allow vacationers to experience the people and places of Ireland in a personal manner. Anne’s future plans include many more trips to Ireland as well as continuing to teach and ride.

Christine Curtin
Christine started riding ponies when she was 8 years old at a riding school north of Toronto. She competed in schooling shows and then as a teenager moved into the Trillium and ‘A’ circuit levels of showing on the Hunter circuit in Ontario. From there, she took an interest in helping coach students in the basics of riding and helped run a successful riding school at the age of 17. She now has 2 horses, one of which was a rescue taken in by her 1.5 years ago with a terrible fear of people making him basically unrideable. This horse is now able to be ridden and competed successfully after many hours rebuilding trust, which has been a great accomplishment. She has also been fortunate enough to ride one of her horses in Wellington, FLA last winter where she was able to experience the unique horse culture the area has to offer. Christine likes to dabble in a variety of disciplines including hunter/jumper, dressage and eventing. Christine takes advantage of any opportunity to participate in clinics with many of Ontario’s Pro riders in order to further her education as both a rider and a coach. She is always looking to gain more knowledge of the various aspects of this great sport.
